E Co 52 14th Inf Long Binh

After arriving in-country in early June 1972, I was sent to E/14, a security company at Long Binh.  After a few weeks pulling perimeter security in the towers at night, Lt Bowers started up a 4.2” heavy mortar platoon for fire support (my MOS was 11C20).  We had a great time out at “Firebase Fannie” (as we called it). After stand-down Sgt Michael R. “Shakey” Harper went to D/17 Cav Air at DaNang, I went to F/4 Cav Air at Tan My and Lt. Bowers went home.  Not sure where the other guys - “The Moaner” or 1st Sgt Perdle - went after that.
